About the Gmail connection

Connect through Google's sign-in screen. Awen's read-only inbox helps you find useful information in new mail without giving it permission to send or change your messages.
Read messages and find suggestions for follow-ups, plans, places, and timely alerts. When you connect, Awen processes mail from the previous 30 days that matches your processing filters, then new mail as it arrives.
Keep processing close
Gmail AI processing runs on your phone. Email and the information Awen derives from it stay out of cloud AI. Some cloud features pause while this local email information is retained.
Gmail is optional. Read-only access does not let Awen send email, modify your messages, or delete originals from Gmail.
Stay in control
Disconnect to clear the cached mailbox and unaccepted suggestions. Facts and follow-ups you accepted remain, with their source email removed. People → More → Delete All Data removes local Awen data, including retained information; read its confirmation before proceeding.
